Receipts, correspondence, and wallet of Nathan Loomis of Ashfield, Massachusetts and Oppenheim, New York. The receipts and correspondence were found in the wallet, which is inscribed D. Loomis. The correspondence with Roger B. Hildreth relates to astronomical observations and to the telescopes made by Alvan Clark of Ashfield and Cambridge, Massachusetts. The collection includes material relating to Lommis' ancestry and his descendants.

Mabel Loomis Todd was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on November 10, 1856. She married David Peck Todd in 1879, and they moved to Amherst, Massachusetts where her husband taught astronomy at Amherst College.
